INFOSERV Institute of Technology (IIT) and the British Department for International
Development (DFID) are pleased to offer educational grants to disadvantaged and disabled
individuals to undertake Information Technology and Personal Development courses through
INFOSERV Institute of Technology. Financial aid is being made available in collaboration with
our Business Linkage Challenge Fund (BLCF) partners for the following courses:

This course sensitises trainers and educators to the special needs of
individuals with varying kinds of disability and exposes them to appropriate
use of information technology (IT) to enhance the learning of the disabled |

These are short term programmes varying from courses that teach
individuals to use the software on the computer to those that teach
individuals how to repair computers |

| Associate Degree in Computing and Management |
This is a two-year, 60 credit programme that offers core courses in
computing and management. |

“Success with People” Personal Development through e-
Workshop including the Extended DISC Personal Analysis |
This is an online programme that takes the learner through the process of
self discovery, career planning and working with others. The course of
study is a platform programme for conflict avoidance. |

Training of Educators in the Design and Development of
Courseware |
This is foundation course in the development of computer-mediated
learning programmes. It is targeted at educators and trainers who are
engaged in working with the disadvantaged and/or disabled. |

| CompTIA A+ Professional Certification |
This course takes candidates through mastery of the curriculum for the
internationally recognized CompTIA A+ certification. This is an entry level
certification for professionals in the area of computer architecture and
software |

Enquiries are invited from NGOs, schools, businesses and community organizations who are
willing to identify potential beneficiaries and to facilitate their participation in the programmes.
There is a major opportunity for the development of new linkages under which resources may be
pooled to provide greater benefit to the target population. We will be happy to discuss such
options with interested organizations.
Applicants (or their representative entities) are required to make a case for their inclusion as a
grant recipient. The grants are being made available under the Operation TILT project.
(Transforming Individual Lives through Technology.) It is imperative that every grant furthers
the objectives of the project and impacts the lives of the disabled and disadvantaged in Jamaica.
